Speed Networking Gets Wheels

Hundreds of Orange County business people have participated in 5 Minute Networking’s fun and frantic events in which participants spend five minutes in one-on-one conversation then rotate when an alarm sounds. I wrote a story in the O.C. Register here.

Co-founders Sonia and Melissa English will put their event on the Detroit People Mover on Oct. 23 for the Detroit Regional Chamber.

Instead of moving table to table, half the participants will ride station to station while the other half remain in one place.

“Participants experience the efficiency of five-minute, one-on-one meetings with potential clients from targeted industries,” said Sonia English. “Software used in the program guarantees networkers will never meet the same person twice.”

Gee, would this idea work on Metrolink? Hard to imagine.
